Session fees

My fee is $175 for a 50-minute session. I don’t take insurance, but I can give you a superbill. This is a receipt you can use to ask your insurance to pay you back. A superbill means I will need to give you a diagnosis and share that with your insurance. We can talk more about what this means during our session.

Getting insurance to pay for sessions

You might be able to get insurance to help pay for sessions by using one of these options:

  • Mentaya or Reimburisfy: These services file your claim using my superbill. They keep a small part of what your insurance pays and give the rest to you. They are used to dealing with insurance and can make it easier for you.

  • Submit the superbill to insurance yourself: You can send the superbill to your insurance company directly. They may also require additional forms from you.

Before our first session, you should call the number on the back of your insurance card. Ask if they cover out-of-network services from a Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate (LMHCA) for CPT code 90837. Also, ask if there’s a limit on sessions per year, how much they will pay you back, and if there’s a deductible you have to pay first.

Sliding scale fees

I offer lower fees through Open Path Collective. You can see if I’m accepting sliding scale clients on my profile. Look for the green circle under my photo and the text “Accepting new clients”. To join, fill out their form and list me as the therapist.

I have a limited number of lower-fee spots, and these are not guaranteed forever. If your financial situation improves, we may adjust the fee.
